Atascadero, CA — The San Luis Obispo (SLO) County Family-Friendly Workplaces Program announces its 2026 First Quarter Family-Friendly Workplaces Award recipients, recognizing employers leading the way in supporting working families, caregivers, and employees across the region.

“Family-friendly workplaces aren’t a trend—they are the future of work. The organizations we’re recognizing today are setting a new standard for what it means to be an employer of choice, proving that when businesses invest in people, they drive innovation, resilience, and long-term economic strength,” said Christina Lefevre Latner, Workforce Development Manager for the program.

Awardees are implementing meaningful practices such as predictable scheduling, hybrid work options, wage bridging for family leave, childcare stipends, lactation support, and other benefits that improve employee well-being and retention.

As participation grows, more employers across industries are recognizing that family-friendly practices are essential to a strong, competitive workforce. Employers throughout San Luis Obispo County are encouraged to join this expanding network and strengthen their own workplace practices.

Get started now—the program offers a free, 15-minute online assessment for all county employers. Completing the assessment also serves as the application for the next award cycle. After submitting, employers receive a consultation with customized feedback and practical tools to enhance family-friendly practices. These improvements can lead to stronger recruitment and retention, reduced turnover and absenteeism, and a more engaged, productive workforce—delivering a clear return on investment for employers. Previous awardees are encouraged to renew their designation annually by completing the assessment each year. The program is free and open to organizations of all sizes and industries.
