SLO County Family-Friendly Workplaces Program Recognizes Second Quarter 2026 Award Recipients
Countywide recognition begins at Good Morning SLO, celebrating employers that support working families and strengthen the local workforce
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – The SLO County Family-Friendly Workplaces Program launched its recognition of the Second Quarter 2026 Family-Friendly Workplaces Award recipients at Good Morning SLO on July 23, the first in a series of countywide recognition efforts celebrating employers committed to supporting working families and building a stronger workforce.
As part of the event, attendees heard from Ziyad I. Naccasha, Partner at Carmel & Naccasha LLP, a Red Diamond Family-Friendly Workplace Award recipient. Naccasha shared that, "The SLO County Family-Friendly Workplaces Program has been a great experience for our firm, and we've seen firsthand how supporting employees both at work and at home creates a stronger team and a better workplace culture. It's also helped us attract and retain talented people, which has been invaluable as we've grown."
The SLO County Family-Friendly Workplaces Program helps businesses attract and sustain a strong, inclusive local workforce by promoting family-friendly workplace practices that support business success and strengthen the local economy. Through its free SLO County Family-Friendly Workplaces Assessment and Awards Program, employers receive personalized recommendations, practical resources, and countywide recognition for creating workplaces where employees and businesses thrive, all at no cost.
Since its launch in 2021, the program has completed more than 400 workplace assessments and presented more than 300 Family-Friendly Workplace Awards to employers throughout San Luis Obispo County.
"Family-friendly workplace practices continue to prove that investing in employees is also an investment in business success," said Christina Lefevre Latner, Workforce Development Manager for the SLO County Family-Friendly Workplaces Program. "We're grateful to business leaders like Carmel & Naccasha LLP who are willing to share their experiences and demonstrate how supporting employees through family-friendly workplace benefits creates stronger organizations and a stronger local workforce."
Award recipients are recognized at several achievement levels based on the family-friendly workplace practices they provide. Each year renewing workplaces are accessed to see if a higher level is available based on the adoption or expansion of new practices.
